Dr. Jeff Stevenson is new president of MMS

Jeff Stevenson, MD, an occupational medicine physician in Novato with a special interest in general practice, is the new president of MMS. The summer issue of Marin Medicine features a wide-ranging interview—watch for it in August.

The other members re-elected to the MMS executive team are Drs. Peter Bretan, urology (president-elect and past president); Michael Kwok, internal medicine (secretary/treasurer), and Dr. Irina deFischer, family medicine-TPMG (immediate past president). Others already on the MMS board of directors include Cuy Goodwin, UCSF Psychiatry resident; Lori Selleck, internal medicine-TPMG (past president), and Paul Wasserstein, pathology.

The annual Health Information Exchange (HIE) conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park on Friday, July 25. Titled "Connecting California to Improve Patient Care in 2014," the conference will focus on practical solutions for securely sharing electronic clinical information between unaffiliated health care facilities, such as outpatient practices, hospitals, laboratories, imaging centers, long-term care, home health and public health. The 2nd annual Asian & Pacific Islander Health Forum, hosted by the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program, will be Thursday, Aug. 14, from 1:30-6:30 p.m. at the Vista Family health Center. This year's focus will be on immigration and health care. Download informational flier.

A conference on Integrating Mind-Body Medicine into Clinical Practice will be held in San Francisco Oct. 5-9. Sponsored by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, the conference offers a maximum of 31 Category 1 credits.
