DEA Controls Tramadol as a Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Effective August 18, 2014, tramadol will be classified as a Schedule IV drug, according to a rule recently published by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). The final rule imposes the regulatory controls and administrative, civil and criminal sanctions applicable to schedule IV controlled substances on persons who handle or propose to handle tramadol.

Anthem Blue Cross announced three major Bay Area health care providers, UCSF Medical Group, Brown & Toland Physicians and several medical foundations linked to Sutter Health have agreed to join regional Anthem ACOs that focuses on patients with two or more chronic conditions.

2015 Medicare Fee Schedule Includes Chronic Care Billing Code, Sunshine Act Changes
