CMS to Host Sepsis Webinar and Town Hall Meeting September 3, 2015 Local Events CMS, sepsis, Sepsis Coalition 0 The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Consortium for Quality Improvement and Survey & Certification Operations invites local physicians to a one-day Sepsis Coalition. This event is an opportunity for stakeholders throughout the region to discuss the prompt identification, diagnosis, and treatment of sepsis among health care providers. Participants will be from groups who have initial contact with beneficiaries, as well as those who are involved in early diagnosis and treatment. Sepsis Coalition (Webinar and Town Hall Meeting) October 15, 2015 San Francisco Federal Building 90 7th Street, 5th Floor (5A and 5B) Webinar presentations will describe the early characteristics of sepsis, survival rates when identified early vs. late, with emphasis on early recognition and rapid treatment; success stories for implementing early detection and rapid response; consensus definition for sepsis; and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) surveillance plan and resources. The webinar will be followed by a town hall conversation about how internal and external stakeholders manage sepsis and ways that interdisciplinary groups can work together to improve sepsis outcomes.
