2/17: Measles Webinar for Primary Care Providers February 11, 2015 CME, Educational Event, Physician Resource measles, webinar 0 The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is sponsoring a measles update webinar for primary care providers next Tuesday, February 17, from 12 pm to 1 pm. The “Measles Update: A Primer for Health Care Providers” webinar is designed for all health care providers who may evaluate a patient with measles, including primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, and other front-line health care providers. Experts will provide a “measles 101” to review the classic and less typical clinical presentations of measles, as well as the diagnosis and management of this highly infectious and once rare disease. There will be an open question and answer session following the presentation. Speakers include Alvin Nelson El Amin, MD, MPH, medical director of the Immunization Program for the county department of health; and James D. Cherry, MD, MSc, research professor of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and member of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA. The webinar has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. An archived file will be available for listening on February 19. This is a free webinar open to all providers with advance registration.
