3/18 CME Program: Bioethics Education Forum February 13, 2014 CME, Educational Event, Local Events bioethics forum, brain death is death, CME 0 This bioethics forum will explore the history of the definition of death by a noted bioethicist who was a part of the President’s Commission that led to the formulation of the Uniform Determination of Death Act. A neurologist will describe how death is determined using brain criteria and what a physician does upon this determination. The legal perspective will be provided by a judge describing the application of the law to recent brain death cases. Audience members will have ample time for questions and discussion about this and pertinent ethical issues.
