CMA Submits Comments to CMS on Proposed 2012 Medicare Fee Schedule September 1, 2011 Advocacy, CMA, Medicare, Payment CMA, CMS, medicare fee schedule 0 CMA has submitted comments to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on the proposed 2012 Medicare Fee Schedule. The major areas of focus are the Physician Quality Reporting System changes, the e-prescribing program changes, the plan for implementing the Value-Based Payment Modifier in 2015, and the changes to the Geographic Practice Cost Index practice expense components. Finally, as mandated by law, CMS is implementing the 29% Medicare SGR payment cuts slated to take effect on January 1, 2012 unless Congress stops the cuts.
