Domestic Violence Protocol Training November 17, 2017 SF Dept of Public Health Domestic Violence, Training 0 San Francisco recently changed its protocol regarding healthcare mandatory reporting of intimate partner violence injuries. There will be a training on December 8th from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at St. Francis Hospital on these changes. The training is open to the entire health care community in San Francisco, and we are grateful to St. Francis for hosting us. We are asking that each hospital in San Francisco send a team of key members to the training, so that your practice is aware of this new protocol: an emergency room physician; an emergency room nurse; a social worker; the member of staff responsible for providing training to clinical teams about policy or procedural changes; and a clerical lead, who is and/or will be responsible for the logistics of transmitting the reports to the police. See the attached endorsement letter from Barbara Garcia, Director of Health, San Francisco Department of Public Health, as well as the attached summary for more information on these changes. Your staff can register for the training here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-new-way-to-report-domestic-violence-training-for-healthcare-providers-registration-38790711061 If you have any questions, you can contact Allison Ipsen at UCSF: Allison.Ipsen@ucsf.edu We hope to see a team from St. Francis at our training.
