Important July 1, 2016 Deadlines for Physicians June 28, 2016 Medicare, News, Technology CURES, health information technology, Meaningful Use, Medicare 0 CURES Registration Under California law, all individuals practicing in California who possess both a state regulatory board license authorized to prescribe, dispense, furnish or order controlled substances and a Drug Enforcement Administration Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (DEA Certificate) must register to use the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) by July 1, 2016. Meaningful Use Hardship Exemption July 1 is also the deadline for physicians to file meaningful use hardship exception applications to avoid Medicare payment penalties in 2017.
