Medi-Cal Closed Today to Prepare for ACS Transition September 30, 2011 News, Payment ACS, Medi-Cal 0 Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) will take over as the new Medi-Cal fiscal intermediary on Monday, October 3. At that time, ACS will assume full responsibility for Medi-Cal claims processing and related services. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) expects that there will be minimal or no impact on the provider community. Physicians should, however, be aware that Medi-Cal will be closed for one day, this Friday, September 30, to prepare for the hand off to ACS. Automated phone lines will also be down from 11:59 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Electronic claim submission will also be available during this brief window.
