Oppose AB 1404 Now: Physician Compensation to Be Made Public September 5, 2019 CMA Assembly Bill 1404, AB 1404 0 Assembly Bill 1404, by Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, would require a health care entity to disclose a contracted physician's complete compensation information, including base compensation, deferred compensation, and any bonuses and incentives that are part of their total compensation. Disclosure of compensation information could encourage coordinated behavior to drive compensation down for health care providers in a way that is not sustainable to their ability to keep their practices open and serve patients, and could also result in unfair competitive practices within the health care market. This bill passed the Senate Appropriations Committee and is eligible to be heard on the Senate floor immediately. We urge you to act now! Contact your Senator today to ask for their NO vote!
