SFDPH Health Advisory: Measles Update September 10, 2015 News, Public Health, SF Dept of Public Health Measles, San Francisco Department of Public Health, Health Advisory 0 The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued a health advisory on measles. Measles was recently diagnosed in a UC Berkeley student. There has been no recent cases reported in San Francisco. Measles continues to circulate in much of the world outside of North and South America. With the start of the new academic year, clinicians are asked to be alert for patients presenting with rash and fever who also may be returning to campus from international destinations. All suspect measles cases in San Francisco should be immediately reported to SFDPH Communicable Disease Control at (415) 554-2830. SFDPH can advise regarding appropriate specimen collection, testing, and isolation depending on the clinical presentation and other history.
