SFMMS Sees Many Election Wins Despite Difficult National Landscape

San Francisco and Marin physician are cheering what looks to be across-the-board victories at the local and state polls coming out of Election Day: every proposition and candidate SFMMS supported is likely to be voted into law, most by a large margin. Below is how SFMMS’s supported candidates and measures fared:

California

Proposition 35: Permanent Funding for Medi-Cal (passed)

Proposition 3: Protecting Marriage Equality (passed)

San Francisco

State Senator District 11: Scott Wiener (winner)

Assembly District 17: Matt Haney (winner)

Assembly District 19: Catherine Stefani (winning)

City Attorney: David Chiu (winner)

Board of Supervisors District 7: Myrna Melgar (winning)

MEASURE B —Health Facilities Bond (winning)

MEASURE G — Rental Subsidies for Low Income Seniors, Families, and Persons with Disabilities (passed)

MEASURE O — Supporting Reproductive Rights (passed)

Marin

Assembly District 12: Damon Connolly (winner)
