SFMS Endorses Proposal to Regulate Electronic Cigarettes July 15, 2011 Advocacy, News, Public Health, SF Dept of Public Health e-cigarette, SFDPH, SFMS endorsement 0 The SFMS Board voted on Monday to endorse the San Francisco Department of Public Health's (SFDPH) proposal to regulate electronic cigarettes. SFMS supports SFDPH's recommendation to: Prohibit the use of electronic cigarettes (and other nicotine delivery devices not approved by the FDA as smoking cessation aids) in those areas where smoking is prohibited by the San Francisco Health Code. Require a tobacco permit for the sale or furnishing of electronic cigarettes and other nicotine delivery devices not approved by the FDA as smoking cessation aids.
