Support Physicians Impacted by California Wildfires October 11, 2017 CMA CMA, Wildfires 0 Devastating wildfires have burned more than 119,000 acres in Northern California and more than 7,500 acres in Orange County. As a result, several physician members have lost their practices and homes. The California Medical Association (CMA) remains in contact with county medical societies in the impacted areas. As of now, there are two ways to help your physician colleagues: If you live in the Sonoma area and need or can provide shelter, assistance and resources, please call Wendy Young, Executive Director of the Sonoma County Medical Society (SCMS), at (707) 236-2589. The SCMS office is closed due to the fire threat, with all staff working remotely. Please consider donating to help those impacted. CMA will work directly with its county medical societies to ensure the funds reach those with the most urgent needs.
