Addiction Treatment Starts Here: Primary Care. November 21, 2018 Primary Care Addiction, Treatment 0 The Center for Care Innovations, in partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services and Cedars-Sinai, is launching a new program titled Addiction Treatment Starts Here: Primary Care. The program’s goal is an increase in access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in primary care for patients with opioid use disorder. Up to 40 California health center sites will receive grants of up to $50,000 and a range of support to connect with peers and experts who are successfully implementing, scaling, and sustaining MAT in primary care settings. Program activities include capability-building trainings, in-person events, site visits to exemplar organizations, and coaching. The 18-month program begins in February 2019.
