Urgent Call to Action: House to Vote on AHCA Today March 23, 2017 Advocacy, AMA, Health Care Reform, Medicaid ACA, AHCA, CBO, Medicaid 0 Later today, the House of Representatives will vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA), a bill that if passed could result in an estimated 14 million Americans losing their health care coverage next year alone! On top of that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office is also projecting the legislation would result in $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid over the next decade. This is unacceptable. Congress must ensure that individuals currently covered are protected from becoming uninsured and takes steps toward coverage and access for all Americans! This includes reducing regulatory burdens and providing greater cost transparency while ensuring that key insurance market reforms, such as coverage for pre-existing conditions, elimination of lifetime benefit caps and parental coverage for young adults remain intact. Now is the time to act - the vote is expected to be incredibly close with the outcome still in the balance. Now is the time to put patients before politics! Please contact your legislators right now and urge them to vote NO on AHCA! Click here to take action Comments are closed.
